<\/a>A few years back, as few as 10, the women in Costa Rica were 100% slim. Now things have gotten bad, many overweight, watching their figure isn’t the norm anymore. Even in places like the Del Rey and Key Largo, thin girls are the norm.;<\/p>\n
Why? Let’s blame on the cellular phone and fast food.<\/p>\n
Ticas used to walk to their friend’s house, now the call on the cell phone and social media apps to stay in touch. Many have cars, add a few more pounds.<\/p>\n
McDonald’s!!! How many are there in San Jose centro? Count them. Six from Paseo Colon to the Plaza de la Democracia. Three alone, counting the\u00a0 one that is a half block from the Banco de Costa Rica. Add to the list of fast foods: KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Carl’s, Jr., Popeyes, and so on…<\/p>\n
At home it is pura manteca (fat). Mantequilla (butter) is too expensive. Fried everything is the morn. Meals are extra starch\/carb.<\/p>\n
And then there’s the mentality.<\/p>\n
