Sex Social Workers

Because most of the sex social workers in Costa Rica are there to better their economic situation and care for their families, many only work on a “need ” basis, that is they are not hardcore prostitutes who cater to as many men as possible in the shortest time or even work every day.

Many of the women work as little of one or two, some a few days a month or only when the financial need arises. It is not uncommon for a part-time Sex Social Worker to go out for the night and then call it a day when she lands her one customer.

It is also not uncommon for a Sex Social Worker to refuse a customer and not only for the low price and conditions, she doesn’t feels secure with situation, just something is not right.

Since they are not hardcore pros and unless the financial need is very pressing, often a Sex Social Worker will refuse a customer based on his looks, his style of dress, mannerisms and just plain that he doesn’t fit her profile. Yes, it can hurt to be turned by a prostitute.

Many of the women do not consider themselves prostitutes and thus having sex for money with anyone would make her one. The paradox is that she is out selling herself for money, but not to anyone who is offering it.

Latinas are generally hot blooded and need, require and seek out sex almost as much as men. The difference is that they can charge for the service, which is not always in hard cash, but can be in the form of gifts, having their utility bill or rent paid for, dinner, a bar tab, etc.

Which brings us to another point, that the woman doesn’t have to necessarily be in a “prostibulo” (whorehouse) to be a prostitute, she can be a friend, a girlfriend, even a wife, when the relationship is based solely on remuneration.

Sex Social Work in Costa Rica takes many forms, so be careful.
