What You Can Expect

Not all hotels in San José require you to check in for the night, many hotels or “pensiones” offer a room and in many cases, full hotel services, for an hour, two or three, just enough time for the nasty.

There are many pensiones in the downtown area of San Jose, most are walk-ups (a door at the street level and a walk up the stairs to a reception desk and the rooms). Some of the “nicer” hotels by the hour will have the front desk at street level.

The hotel-by-the-hour is an alternative to taking a sex social worker to your hotel room or home, where your valuables could easily disappear.

Many of the by the penisones are in less desirable areas, so be careful walking around the area and especially when leaving. Have the front desk call a taxi for you, especially at night. Rarely do pensiones offer any type of security like in full service hotels.
