The best place to hang out in San José was the News Cafe, a unique place that offered some of the best food and definitely the best view. A view of the beautiful (and sometimes not so beautiful) walking the Avenida.
Located on the corner of the Hotel Presidente, the three balcony tables were l the best seat in Costa Rica.
Every day, thousands of women would pass by. And every day, we foreigners would sit for hours to enjoy the views. The pretense was a cappuccino, a beer, a bite to eat, and yes although all excellent, it was the views.
Sadly, the News Cafe has not been with us for some years, replaced by cell phone service storefront.
