(CR!S) Mongers in Costa Rica may want to take a break this summer, to visit the Canadian city of Montreal where women will be allowed to go topless in public. Yes, you read it right, Canadians women are going to shed their bras and tops all for a good cause.
August 26th is Women’s Equality Day. It is the day when women in the U.S. earned the right to vote. But when it comes to equality we have a long way to go.
One major right that is still being denied to women these days is the right to be topless in public. Yes, it seems that no matter how forward thinking Americans are, most people still have an issue with women exposing their breasts in public.
That is somewhat the case in Costa Rica. Women will pull out their breasts in public,in the mall, in the park, even on the bus to breastfeed. The will wear tops that leaves little to the imagination, yet will still wear a bra. Which is crazy if you think about it.
But that won’t be the case in Montreal. At least for one day.
The Montreal blog, Mtlblog.com, says that on Sunday, August 27th women in that city will bare their breasts thanks to Go Topless Day that organizes a protest every year on the Sunday that falls closest to Women’s Equality Day.
Although the website has not yet been updated, Mtlblog.com says they contacted the organizers and confirmed that the event will once again be taking place in Montreal.
